The next section just needs your basic contact details. Unlike with Commission Junction, Clickbank asks for your website but does not demand it. This is entirely sensible, as affiliates will select a product to promote, and then build a website based around that product. The most important part of the form is right at the bottom, where you are asked to create an account nickname. This nickname is important, because you cannot change it. It can appear as visible to potential buyers.
The remaining part of the job is simply to agree to the terms and conditions. When you have done this, click the “submit” button and create your account. Now that you have your Clickbank account created, you can browse through the entire market place to select a product to promote. You will need to have some idea of the niche in which you wish to promote a product, as there is a simply overwhelming choice available. The big advantage of this kind of marketing is that you are investing none of your own money in the promotion. If the campaign is failing to produce results, and even the best marketers will have campaigns like this, it is easy to just change the page of your blog to promote another affiliate product.
When you have chosen a product to promote, you will need to create what is known as a hoplink. This is a link from which you can be identified as the referring affiliate every time a sale is made. This hoplink will contain both a vendor’s code for the product, and your own individual affiliate nickname. With a Blogger blog, it is extremely easy to hyperlink any text as you are composing a post. You can create a link through to the Clickbank sales page using any text in your post, so the unwieldy looking hoplink does not need to be displayed as part of your writing.
