Every business has unique marketing requirements, depending on the nature of its setup and design, its main focus and its customers. However, if there’s one marketing strategy that you should not miss using for your business, it’s article marketing. Thanks to the solid showing of businesses after some helpful buzz online, more and more internet marketers and business owners have realized the benefits of having a good article marketing strategy. It’s a fast, simple and cheap way of promoting your business and getting your message across.

Advantages of having an article marketing strategy for your business
Using articles to create buzz for your business is nothing new. It’s a common technique used by many business owners, internet marketers, consultants, coaches and authors to promote their products or services.

If the article is well-written, informative and offers genuine solutions to common problems or issues, it also helps brand you as an expert in your industry. Furthermore, it helps promote your business for free, increasing your sales and eventually, your profits. A well-designed article marketing strategy will help you reach your target market easily. Since links to your business website or blog will be included, you can also increase traffic to your website and drum up more interest in your business.

Designing an effective article marketing strategy
Writing a few articles and posting them online does not constitute a marketing strategy. If this technique is performed without any focal point or purpose, it will do more harm than good. To increase the likelihood that your article marketing strategy will work, do the following:

Write about your niche topic.
What is the core of your business? Who is your target market? Who do you want to sell your products or services to? Make sure you know the answers to these questions when planning your article marketing strategy.

The key technique here is to make sure your efforts are focused so that when your target market reads your article, they will find it interesting and useful at the same time. If you’re marketing your affiliate program, for example, you should produce articles that discuss the industry, what future affiliates can expect and how to increase their chances of success in this field. You should be able to attract the segments of the market that: a) want to join an affiliate program, b) are thinking of joining and c) are thinking of putting up their own business and have not decided yet on what it would be.

Do a keyword research.
Certain keywords mean big business for you. Do an online search on which keywords are relevant to your business and use those when creating articles as part of your marketing strategy. Use these keywords for articles, titles, ads and links.

Use structure in your articles.
There is a technique in writing articles intended for use as a marketing strategy. Other than truly useful content, you should be able to use search engine optimization techniques in your write-ups. This will increase the chances that your article will get more exposure. You should also include a resource box on your article. This is a link that will connect your article to your website where more information about your business and products will be found.

Write short articles. Articles should range in length from 400 to 800 words, depending on their topic and purpose. The lengthier they are, the meatier they should be.

Submit to multiple article databases.
Allowing your article to appear in more article sites will increase the chances of exposing it to more readers and prospective customers. Choose the most popular and reputable article databases online and post your articles there.

Build quality content.
With everything you do, always make sure you add value to your business. It takes a bit of effort to produce a good article for your marketing strategy but this is beneficial in the long run. Consistent good showing creates a highly useful site and increases targeted traffic, significantly boosting your business’ online reputation and ultimately, your sales.

Article Marketing Strategy

March 31st, 2008 Posted in traffic

There is no loner established, and better tested, method for driving traffic than article marketing. Anyone who is looking to drive traffic to affiliate campaigns, or to the sites where they are selling their own products, should be looking to implement an article marketing strategy. It is not difficult to do some research into the Alexa rank and page rank of different directories. This will not be a definitive answer as to their effectiveness, but will be a valuable guide. As ever, only testing will bring the definitive answer.

Article directories do very considerably in the amount of traffic they can drive. Find a good one, and you can keep using it for a long time. You can never have too many quality articles out on the web promoting your websites. If these articles manage to get picked up by the search engines, and ranked on the first page for searched for keyword phrases, they can continue to drive traffic for a long time. Articles can also be picked up and used by established sites, who must keep your link as a condition for using the article. This can lead to very welcome traffic spikes.

The duplicate content penalty remains a contentious issue, and none of us really know exactly what the search engine algorithms are. What is clear is that if you can submit a rewritten version to each directory, you will gain better results. There is now software which can rewrite articles to some degree, and if you are going to submit a lot of articles to different directories, this is worth looking into.

The most important part of your article is the resource box at the bottom. There is absolutely no point in giving the reader a good read if they are then not motivated to click through to your site. Make the resource box a call to action, and make sure there are two links to your site, one with the actual URL, and the other with keyword anchor text. The anchor text will help your search engine ranking, and using your URL as a link ensures that if someone copies and pastes your article without the links remaining clickable, the reader still has an opportunity to visit your site. Producing a good resource box is the most critical part of your article marketing strategy.
